As we grow at Math Swap Tutoring, we are on the lookout for additional math tutors who will help us fulfill our mission to “build confidence, expand minds, and create opportunities for our students through math help.”
We are looking for math tutors who are:
- Absolutely passionate – possessing a real desire to help students learn
- Absolutely prepared – demonstrating the discipline of being ready well in advance of each tutoring session
- Absolutely punctual – never late for a session, and letting relevant parties know well in advance if being present is not possible
- Absolutely persistent – not settling for a confused student and doing one’s best to increase each student’s learning
These values are very important to us at Math Swap.
Who Qualifies to Tutor with Math Swap
Aside from aligning with our Mission and Values, we are looking for tutors who meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree OR current college student
- Math-based degree (mathematics, engineering, accounting, physics, etc.) is preferred for middle and high school math tutoring
- Tutoring experience (preferred but not required)
- Available at least 3 hours per week
- Has a business entity (i.e. LLC) and an EIN number
- Available in the near future
- Ability to tutor virtually (preferred but not required if local)
Note: Because tutoring sessions often involve interactions with minors, a background check will be required.
